Best Time for KailashMansarovarYatra
Due to the remoteness and extreme high elevation of the tour, the Kailash Mansarovar can only be visited safely during a specific time of year. The trek around Kailash can only be done from April to late October. Due to the high chance of heavy snow and extremely cold temperatures, we do not recommend to take a tour outside of the typical trekking season. Furthermore, the Buddhist holy month of Saga Dawa festival is the best time for KailashMansarovarYatraas this holiday brings thousands of pilgrims to the mountain. Saga Dawa Festival usually falls sometime in late May to mid-June each year. From July through mid-September, Mount Kailash can be much busier as the weather during this time is pleasing and warmer.
Fitness Level
As the tour takes you up o the highest altitude you have to be physically fit for the Kailash Mansarovar yatra. Plus, we insist everyone consult with the doctor and must mention that you are going to high altitude. But it is not compulsory that you have to submit the medical checkup certificate. People with back pain may have a problem during the trip on the rugged road. Besides these people are suggested to practice exercise, walking or yoga for physical fitness.
Clothing and Accessories
As the Kailash Mansarovar is located at high altitude the climate is extremely cold that is why it is recommended that you have warm clothes with you, thermal coat, monkey cap, comfort shoes, masks, walking sticks, sunscreen lotions, sunglasses are also recommended accessories for the trip.
Medical Facilities
Very few medical facilities are available in Tibet. That too is very distantly located. Our Guide having a certificate of paramedic courses will accompany the group, who take care of only a few Medical issues at High Altitudes. Personal Medical kit & medicines are recommended.
Currency
The unit of the Chinese currency is Yuan. USD 1 = 6.00 Yuan. 1 Yuan = INR 10.00 approx, Money can exchange at Bank of China at Zhangmu or from the locals at Zhangmu or Kodari.
